Jody was born and raised in PEI!
After graduating from AVC in May 1998, she joined a mixed animal practice in June 1998, where she approximately 70% small animal work and 30% large animal work in Sunderland Ontario. Then Jody joined another mixed practice in Brooklin Ontario but was exclusively a small animal practitioner in this practice from 2000-2012. In 2012 she started at CVC as a fill in for a maternity leave and well… The rest is history.
Jody loves making indoor and outdoor floral arrangements with supplies gathered from the woods/fields on her property where she loves to walk her dogs.
As a rescuer she has shared her life with many incredible animals all of them with unique and special (sometimes quirky and even annoying) personalities. Perhaps the 1 cat that has left the greatest sense of awe for her was her beloved Starr (whom we recently lost) who was blind when they found her in the middle of the road on their way home from work on a cold march evening in Ontario. Starr’s patience and tollerence for all other creatures in the house and ability to climb stairs and onto furniture with ease and even find her way back to the front doormat if she found her way outside and no one realized she was out are truly only some of the dear little girl’s amazing capabilities. Though she had no vision, she made up for her sensory loss with highly acute smell and hearing and an extreme love of life!
Her bucket list includes:
-Travelling to Ireland, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand
-Hand gliding in the Scottish Highlands
-Having an animal sanctuary
-Winning the lottery
