***Dr. MacQuarrie is currently out on maternity leave***
Dr. Jessie MacQuarrie grew up in Amherst, NS. She received her B.Sc in Animal Science from Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 2012, and graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2016. Prior to joining the team at Charlottetown Veterinary Clinic in the spring of 2020, she spent 4 years working for the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture as a large animal veterinarian in the Sussex region. Dr. MacQuarrie will be working on small animals, but continues to work large animal emergency calls as part of the after-hours service.
Jessie lives in Bonshaw with her husband, Jeff on his family dairy farm. In addition to the dairy herd of about 250 registered Holsteins, they have 3 Appaloosa horses (Milo, Ozzie and Rose), a Border Collie named Casey, a cat named Marshall, a rabbit named Kenny, and a small flock of laying hens.
In her free time, Jessie enjoys riding and showing her horses around the Maritimes and Northeastern US, milking cows at home and helping her mom and stepdad with showing their beef cattle during exhibition season.
