Laura was proudly born and raised in Cape Breton, NS and now is living in Cornwall PEI with her husband Greg and their 3 dogs.
She graduated from the (then) Nova Scotia Agricultural College.
Her career began in the western end of PEI where she worked for 4 years before moving home to Cape Breton to work at Kennedy Animal Hospital. Inevitably she moved back to PEI, Charlottetown this time for love, and started at CVC in 2013. Laura has special interest in anesthesia and pain control and she loves learning new techniques and modalities.
Laura is musical and plays the saxophone, also loves theatre and has been in many productions over the years with different school and community theatres.
Their house can be a zoo! Each dog has a unique and wonderful personality.
-Dallas the rescue lab, shares his joy, and his toys with everybody he meets. He may be a senior in age and body, but certainly not in his mind.
-Cozzie the senior lab/beagle mix lives true to his breeds and would do anything for food, including eating an entire birthday cake and loaves of bread. (This probably was a contributing factor to the diabetes he has lived with for the past 6 years.
-Larry the shih tzu is their newest rescue boy and looks to his big brothers for confidence. He is happiest when he is on a lap and won’t hesitate to complain by groaning and sneezing when his demands for attention are ignored.
Laura’s bucket list includes:
-Traveling, mostly to Brazil and Australia
-Would also very much love to see orca in the wild
